Once your Telegram account is connected, messages from your Telegram fans arrive in your Velvet inbox and you reply from Velvet. Nothing changes for your fans: they keep chatting with you on Telegram as usual.
How to connect
- Open your connection settings in the Velvet dashboard and choose Telegram.
- Enter the phone number of your Telegram account. Telegram sends a login code to your Telegram app.
- Type the code in Velvet to confirm the connection.
- Accounts that require Telegram two-step verification cannot be connected in Velvet yet.
About the connection
Velvet talks to Telegram through a dedicated proxy, so the connection does not expose your personal IP address. If you prefer, you can set your own proxy for the connection in the same settings.
Reconnecting
If Telegram ends the session, for example after a password change or after you log out all devices from the Telegram app, the connection shows as disconnected in Velvet. Reconnect by repeating the phone and code steps. Your conversation history in Velvet is kept.
Security
You can disconnect Telegram from Velvet at any time, and disconnecting never deletes anything on your Telegram account. If something looks wrong, contact support.
