One price, not a pricing puzzle
A creator profile carries one fan subscription price and one switch. There are no tiers to design, no upgrade path to maintain, and no fan hesitating over which of four boxes they should have ticked.
Velvet is a fan subscriptions platform that turns one-time buyers into recurring supporters. Set your monthly price, gate exclusive content behind the paywall and let renewals run on autopilot.
A creator profile carries one fan subscription price and one switch. There are no tiers to design, no upgrade path to maintain, and no fan hesitating over which of four boxes they should have ticked.
Whatever currency the first payment settles in is copied forward onto every renewal that follows. A subscriber who joined at nine is billed nine in month fourteen, whatever the exchange rate has done in between.
Velvet refuses to open a subscription checkout until your email is confirmed, your identity check has passed, your avatar and cover are set and your price is above zero. A half-finished profile cannot take a fan’s money.
You define your subscription offer and price; fans subscribe from your Velvet page in a couple of taps and renewals bill automatically each month.
Subscribers get ongoing access to your gated feed and subscriber-only perks for as long as their subscription stays active.
Pricing, what content sits behind the paywall, and how you welcome new subscribers are all in your hands: change them whenever your strategy changes.
You can see who subscribes, who lapses and what your recurring revenue looks like month over month, straight from your dashboard.
When a fan cancels, Velvet calls the payment provider first and records the cancellation locally only after that call succeeds. The order matters: billing has genuinely stopped before your dashboard says it has, rather than the other way round.
The subscription then runs to the end of the period the fan already paid for and lapses. Nothing is prorated and nothing is clawed back, so a cancellation on the second day of a month never becomes a refund conversation.
Subscribers-only is a placement rather than a folder. A single paid link can be marked subscribers-only, and your chat can be closed to anyone without an active subscription, which makes the subscription an access decision rather than a badge.
The gate reads the subscription’s live status at request time, so a lapsed subscriber loses the subscriber view the moment their period ends and you never move a file to make that happen.
Each renewal is charged through a secure payment provider and credited to your Velvet wallet, tracked line by line in your ledger.
Recurring revenue clears the same 7-day hold as everything else and joins one balance, so subscriptions do not need their own payout to chase.
Those fans are already paying you monthly, one unlock at a time, with a fresh decision on every purchase. A subscription turns the same money into one decision and gives you a floor you can plan the month against.
Closing chat to subscribers makes the subscription the door to you rather than the door to a folder. It is one setting, read live on every request, so it applies to today’s subscribers instead of to a list you keep updating by hand.
One price and one switch means launching takes an afternoon rather than a pricing workshop. What differentiates your offer is what you put behind it, which is a content decision rather than a packaging exercise.
You set the price yourself and can adjust it later. Many creators start accessible and grow the offer as their gated content library expands.
They keep access until the end of their paid period, then the subscription simply doesn't renew. There are no penalties on either side.
Yes. Renewals bill automatically each period through a secure payment provider until the fan cancels.
Not on one profile. The price belongs to the creator profile, so one profile sells at one price. What varies between subscribers is what you publish, not what they pay.
Something in the activation gate is still open. A confirmed email, an approved identity check, an avatar, a cover image and a price above zero are all required before a fan can be charged, and any one of them missing means the checkout is never offered.
They keep the amount and currency recorded on their subscription when it started. The new price applies to everyone who subscribes after the change.
They settle into the same wallet through the same ledger, so a subscriber who unlocks a link is two entries against one fan record rather than two systems you reconcile. Subscribing never blocks a fan from buying.
